Dear Strathberry community,
On Friday the 27th of March, we temporarily closed our online stores. We’ve been in constant communication with our warehouse colleagues since then, and we have now been advised that as of Thursday 2nd April, and at their suggestion; we’re able to reopen our online store to you, our customers, albeit with a limited infrastructure for now.
We want to take the time to give you the full picture of our online store operations, so that you’re fully up to speed, and you understand why some days, we may be able to send more bags than others.
Due to vital work being carried out for the UK government and for other businesses, our UK distribution centre is deemed essential to the country’s needs and therefore remains open. That means, quite rightly, that our colleagues there will only be working on our non-essential business, when absolutely all the essential work has been completed. To make sure everyone is safe, a reduced number of people are working in the warehouse, and all work is being carried out in strict accordance with government guidelines. Please do be assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure that our warehouse and delivery staff are not just being kept safe, but that they feel safe too.
Also, the product available on our website is already beautifully packed and ready to go. This means that our colleagues only need to attach your delivery label, therefore requiring a minimum level of handling for them, and contributing to our ability to get our product to you in a safe and speedy manner.
In addition to our UK distribution centre, we do also distribute from locations around the world, and your order may be able to be fulfilled from any of these. They are all operating with the same strict levels of hygiene.
With all of this being said: we may experience delays to our usual delivery times, and would advise that we may experience longer delivery times than normal. We really appreciate your patience with us.
On Tuesday the 17th of March we took the difficult, but necessary, decision to temporarily close our UK stores. We’ll reopen the stores as soon as it’s deemed safe to do so, and we really look forward to welcoming you back when that day comes!
Our Head Office team have been working from home since Friday 13th March.
Between our operations in the UK, Spain, and China we have over 50 members in the Strathberry family. We continue to support all of them through this most difficult time.
Our friendly customer service teams are working remotely and if you have any questions, at all, then please do email them via email@example.com. Or if you just want to say hello!
Don’t worry - we have extended our returns period to 30 days from the return request to allow you to return any items to us safely.
Strathberry in the Community
Now more than ever, we need to look out for each other.
In the first weeks of lockdown, we immediately committed to several charitable contributions that we continue now, mainly focussed around our local communities in Edinburgh. We started with weekly donations made to Age Scotland, helping to tackle loneliness among older people during these times of self-isolation.
We donated to Social Bite, a charitable café initiative with a branch just around the corner from Strathberry HQ, who are currently working to repurpose their entire business to supply 3000 food, hygiene and basic medicine supply packs every single day to people in need all over Scotland.
We donated supplies in support of the Grassmarket Community Project, Steps to Hope and Rock Trust - all charities working with the homeless within Edinburgh.
Then, and in addition to the above, we ran a sale committing 10% of all our sales to causes related to COVID-19. With your generous help, we have been able to send significant donations to all of the eight charities listed below. We are proud to support each and every one of them: all doing vital, vital work at this difficult time. We’d encourage you to look into their works too. Please see the list below, and thank you so very much for helping us to make this contribution.

In addition to this, we have offered our support to Government and Health Services and have been involved in looking into the sourcing of masks and other protective equipment. We stand ready to help whenever required.
Please note we are carefully monitoring daily developments of the situation world-wide, and as such our logistics are being reviewed on a daily basis. We will continue to closely follow advice from local, national and international authorities.
Thank you, so much, for your ongoing support and the kind messages we have received from so many of you.
We really do hope you are all safe and well.
See you soon,
Guy and Leeanne Hundleby
